Yu Gwan-sun was a young Korean independence activist who lived from 1902 to 1920. She was a student in Seoul when Japan controlled Korea.

유관순은 1902년부터 1920년까지 살았던 젊은 한국 독립 운동가예요. 일본이 한국을 지배하던 시절 서울에서 공부하던 학생이었어요.

💡 Fun fact

Yu Gwan-sun continued to shout "Long live Korean independence!" even while she was in prison, encouraging other prisoners around her.

유관순은 감옥에 갇혀 있는 동안에도 "대한 독립 만세!"를 외치며 주변 죄수들을 격려했어요.
