Dangun is the legendary founder of Gojoseon, the first Korean kingdom, said to have begun around 2333 BCE. He is considered the ancestor of the Korean people.

A famous Korean legend says a bear and a tiger both wanted to become human. Only the bear had enough patience to succeed — and she became Dangun's mother.

유명한 전설에 따르면, 곰과 호랑이가 모두 사람이 되고 싶어 했어요. 그런데 인내심이 강한 곰만이 사람이 될 수 있었고, 그 곰이 바로 단군의 어머니가 되었어요.
