유명 화가에게 받은 초상화 2500만 파운드에 팔려

Did you know that a painting of you could become very valuable one day?

Sue Tilley has an interesting story. Long ago, she was a model for an artist named Lucian Freud. Freud was a very famous painter. He painted many people. Recently, one of his paintings of Sue sold for a lot of money — about 25 million pounds.

Sue remembers those times with Freud. She thinks about the nice champagne lunches they had together. Lunches with good wine and good food. She also remembers his studio. The studio was not very clean or neat. Freud did not care about that. He wanted to focus on his art.

One funny thing: Freud used a Rodin sculpture as a doorstop. A Rodin is a very famous, very expensive sculpture. Most people would put it in a special place. But Freud just used it to hold a door open. This shows how Freud thought about art. For him, art was not about money. Art was about creating and working.

Sue's memories of those days are warm. She remembers Freud as a hard worker. He loved to paint. He spent many hours in his studio, creating beautiful pictures. For Sue, being part of his work was special. Now, when people see that painting, they see her face. And they see Freud's skill.

This story teaches us something interesting. Sometimes, small moments in our lives can become important later. Sue did not know that one day, her picture would be so valuable. She just wanted to help an artist she respected.

Do you think art is important because it costs money? Or is art important because it shows us beauty and truth?
