Nigeria's vultures vanish, but one man fights back

Did you know that vultures are disappearing? In Nigeria, these big birds are vanishing fast. People do not understand why these birds matter.

Many people think vultures are bad or scary. Some hunters catch them for ritual use. They believe the birds have special powers. But this idea is wrong. Vultures do not hurt people. They help nature work correctly.

Here is the important part: vultures clean up dead animals. When an animal dies in the wild, vultures eat it. This stops sickness from spreading to other animals. Without vultures, dead bodies stay on the ground. Disease grows and spreads everywhere. The whole ecosystem gets sick.

One man is fighting to save these birds. People call him the 'Vulture King.' He teaches people about vultures. He shows them the birds are friends, not enemies. He works with villages and hunters. He tells them about nature's real cycle.

The work is hard. Many people still do not believe. But slowly, the message is changing. Some hunters now protect vultures instead of hunting them. Schools teach children about these amazing birds. Young people are learning a new way to think.

Vultures need our help right now. If we lose them, nature loses a helper it cannot live without. What do you think? Have you seen a vulture or learned about them in your country? How does your community think about animals that seem scary?
