Evan Spiegel runs Snapchat. He told the BBC that the app might add a tool. This tool could stop teens from using Snapchat too long each day. Right now, many apps do not have this feature. Young people can use them as much as they want, any time they want.

Why does this matter? Many doctors and parents are worried. They say too much screen time is not good for young brains. Teenagers need sleep, exercise, and time with friends—not just their phones. When apps keep you on the screen, you cannot do these things.

Snapchat thinks adding time limits could help the whole industry change. Other apps might do the same thing. Spiegel says this would be "an important step forward." It shows the company cares about young people's health, not just making money from ads.

But here is the honest part: will young people actually use these limits? If a teen sets a one-hour limit, will they follow it? Or will they just turn it off? Time limits only work if people want them to work.

The good news is that companies are starting to listen. If Snapchat adds this feature, other apps will probably follow. Small changes can lead to bigger changes.
