Northern Ireland farms earn over £1 billion in 2025

Did you know that a farm can earn more money in one year than most people make in their whole life? In 2025, farms in Northern Ireland did exactly that.

Northern Ireland is a place in the UK where many people work as farmers. These farmers raise animals and grow food. In 2025, something special happened. All the farms together made over one billion pounds. That is a very big number!

Why did farms make so much money? The biggest reason is beef. Beef is meat from cows. In 2025, beef prices went very high. They reached the highest prices ever. When prices are high, farmers earn more money when they sell their beef.

Farmers work very hard. They take care of animals every day. They must feed the animals. They must keep them healthy. They must work in all kinds of weather—rain, wind, and cold. When prices go up, all their hard work pays better.

This is good news for Northern Ireland. When farmers earn more money, they can buy new tools and equipment. They can take care of their land better. They can also spend money in their towns and villages. This helps other businesses too.

But farmers know that prices do not stay high forever. Sometimes prices go down. So farmers save money when times are good. They plan for harder times.

It is interesting to think about where our food comes from. Every time you eat beef, you eat the work of farmers. In Northern Ireland, those farmers had a very good year in 2025.
