8월 12일 밤 수백 개의 별똥별이 하늘을 밝힌다

Have you ever seen a star fall from the sky? On August 12th, you might see many of them!

This special night is called the Perseid meteor shower. It happens every year at the same time. People around the world come outside to watch. They lie on the ground and look up at the dark sky. It is free and very beautiful.

Why does this happen? Our Earth moves through space. Sometimes it passes through dust and small rocks. These rocks fall into our sky. When they fall, they burn very hot and bright. We call this a shooting star. But it is not really a star. It is a small rock from space.

The best time to watch is late at night. You should go to a dark place, far from city lights. Your eyes need about 20 minutes to see well in the dark. Then you can see many bright lines cross the sky. Some nights you can see 50 or 100 shooting stars!

Did you know? The best view comes when you are far from towns and cities. The darker it is, the more stars you see. You do not need special tools. Your eyes are enough. Just bring a blanket and a warm jacket. The night can be cold.

August 12th is one of the best nights of the year for stargazing. It is a free gift from space. Have you ever watched a meteor shower? What was it like for you?
