Indonesia's president removed the leader of a major school meal program

Indonesia has a big school meal program. The government gives free food to students. President Prabowo started this program. He wanted to help poor children. But something went very wrong.

Many children became sick after eating the meals. Tens of thousands of kids got ill. Some children had bad stomach pain. Others felt very weak. Parents were very worried and angry.

The food was not clean. Some meals had bad ingredients. Workers did not follow safety rules. Doctors said the food made children sick. Schools had to close their kitchens.

President Prabowo saw the problem. He decided to fire the program's leader. This leader was in charge of all the meals. The president wanted to stop the sickness.

Now the government is making changes. They will check all food very carefully. Workers will learn new safety rules. Doctors will visit schools. Children will eat safer meals soon.

This program is important for poor families. Free meals help hungry children learn better. But the meals must be safe first. The government must do better work now.
