일본 예술가, 거울과 점으로 끝없는 방을 만들다

Imagine walking into a room made of mirrors. The walls, floor, and ceiling all reflect each other. And everywhere you look, you see tiny dots—thousands and thousands of dots. This is the art world of Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese artist who has amazed millions of people.

Kusama is famous for her polka dots. She paints them. She sculpts them. She fills entire rooms with them. Her most popular rooms are called "infinity rooms." Inside, lights blink on and off. Mirrors make the dots seem endless. Visitors feel like they are floating in a dream.

For many years, not many people knew her name. She worked quietly in Tokyo and New York. Then, in the 2010s, her art became very popular on social media. Suddenly, everyone wanted to visit her infinity rooms. Museums around the world invited her to show her work. Lines of people waited for hours to enter her installations.

Kusama says the dots come from her imagination. She sees patterns everywhere. She believes art can bring happiness to people. Her rooms are not just beautiful—they make visitors feel something special. Some people say they feel peaceful. Others say they feel wonder.

Today, Kusama is over ninety years old. She still creates art every day. Her work has changed how people think about art. She has shown that simple ideas—like dots and mirrors—can move the hearts of millions. What would you feel if you stepped into an infinity room filled with endless dots and light?
