Bangladesh is facing a serious measles outbreak

A health crisis is happening in Bangladesh. Measles, a serious disease, is spreading very fast. Health workers say this is very dangerous.

Measles is a virus. It spreads through the air. When a sick person coughs or sneezes, the virus moves to other people. Children get sick quickly. They have high fevers and red spots on their skin.

In just two months, Bangladesh recorded over 60,000 cases of measles. This is a very large number. Many of these children became very ill. Hospitals are very busy now. Doctors and nurses work hard every day.

Why is this happening? Vaccination is important. A vaccine helps your body fight the virus. But many children in Bangladesh did not receive the vaccine. Some families did not know about it. Other families could not reach the hospitals. Without the vaccine, children cannot protect themselves.

The government is working to help. Health workers are going to villages. They give vaccines to children. They teach families about the disease. Parents learn why vaccines are important.

This outbreak shows us something important. Good health care saves lives. Vaccines stop diseases. When children get vaccinated, whole communities stay healthy. Bangladesh needs more help. The world must care about this crisis.
