Imagine moving your house, but every single thing in it is alive and needs special care. This is happening right now in London.

Kew Gardens is one of the most famous gardens in the world. Inside, there is a very old glass house called the Palm House. It is 150 years old. Thousands of plants live there — big palms, rare plants, and plants from hot countries far away.

Now the glass house needs repairs. The glass is old. The heating system does not work well. So the garden decided to fix everything. But first, all 1,300 plants must leave their home.

This is not easy. Some plants are very big — taller than a person. Some plants are rare. They may not exist anywhere else in the world. Workers must move each plant carefully. They use special boxes and carts. They keep the plants warm and wet during the move. One mistake can kill a plant that took fifty years to grow.

The workers take the plants to other glass houses nearby. These are temporary homes. The plants will stay there for about two years while the big house is fixed. During this time, workers will repair all the glass, rebuild the heating, and clean everything.

Did you know? Some plants in the Palm House are over 100 years old. These plants remember when Queen Victoria was alive. They have seen the world change. Now they travel across the garden for the first time in their long lives.

This project shows how much work goes into caring for nature. It takes many people, many months, and lots of love. When the Palm House opens again, it will be new and strong. And the old plants will come home.

What would you do if you had to move 1,300 living things? Would you be nervous?
