Did you know that some of France's best cheese has very strict rules? The rules say exactly where the cows must eat grass. But last year, something changed everything—a bad drought.

A drought is a long time with no rain. When there is no rain, grass does not grow. The farmers who make famous French cheese had a problem. Their cows had no grass to eat.

Cheese makers must follow old, traditional rules. These rules say: the cows eat only grass from this place. The grass must be fresh and local. This is why the cheese tastes special and famous. But the drought made this rule impossible.

So the government made a choice. They said: "This time, you can change the rule. Your cows can eat grass from other places. We understand you need to survive." This is called a waiver. A waiver means: you do not have to follow the normal rule right now.

This waiver is temporary. It is only for right now. When the rain comes back and grass grows again, the old rules will return. The cheese makers can go back to their traditional way.

This story shows something important. Rules help keep things special and real. But sometimes, rules must bend a little when nature makes life hard. The cheese is still real cheese. The farmers are still doing their job with care. They just need help from their government during this difficult time.
