Fortnite maker Epic Games bets big on artificial intelligence

Have you ever wondered how video games will change in the next five years? A big game company just gave us a clue.

Epic Games makes Fortnite. Fortnite is one of the world's most popular video games. Recently, Epic Games said something important: the company will use much more artificial intelligence, or AI. AI is computer technology that can learn and make decisions.

Why does Epic Games want to use AI? AI can help make games faster and better. AI can create new game worlds. AI can help design characters and stories. This saves time for people who work at Epic Games.

But many people are worried. Some game workers fear AI will take their jobs. Some players worry games will become less creative. These concerns are real and important.

The boss of Epic Games answered these worries. He said the gaming world must change and grow. He said we cannot stay in the past. "Much of the room wants it to be 2016," he said, "but it's not." This means some people want old ways, but technology keeps moving forward.

The truth is, AI is already in many games. Players may not see it, but it helps create better experiences. Now Epic Games will use AI even more.

What does this mean for you? If you love Fortnite or other games, changes are coming. Games may look different. They may feel different. But they will probably be new and exciting.

What do you think? Is AI good for video games? Would you like games made with more AI help?
