Did you know that one hand gesture can bring thousands of people together? On Star Trek Day, fans will try to do exactly that.
Star Trek is a famous TV show and movie series. The show started in 1966. Fans around the world love this series very much. One of the most famous parts of Star Trek is the Vulcan salute. This is a special hand gesture. You hold your hand up and spread your fingers in a certain way. When Vulcans — the alien characters in Star Trek — meet each other, they use this salute to say hello.
Now, the Science Museum is planning something exciting. On Star Trek Day, many fans will come to the museum. They will all try to make the Vulcan salute at the same time. The goal is to break the world record. They want to have more people do the salute together than any group has ever done before.
Why is this fun? It is fun because Star Trek fans love their show. This event brings fans together. People from different places can feel like a family. They share the same love for Star Trek. Making a record together makes that feeling even stronger.
The Vulcan salute is simple but special. It has a real meaning in the Star Trek world. For fans, it means they belong to a community. They are not alone. When hundreds or thousands of people do the same gesture together, it becomes a moment everyone remembers.
If you love Star Trek, would you want to join this event? Would you like to be part of a world record? It is a chance to celebrate something you love with many other people.
