TV show discovers forgotten Scottish painter's work worth £100,000

Imagine you find an old picture in your grandmother's house. Is it valuable? Is it real? This happens to many people. Now there is a show that helps answer these questions.

A popular TV program checks old paintings. The workers look very carefully at each picture. They ask questions. Where is it from? Who made it? Is it real or fake? The show helps people understand their paintings better.

Recently, the show found something special. A painting from the 1700s appeared on the program. A Scottish artist made this picture long ago. Her name was Katherine Read. She was a famous painter in her time. Many people forgot about her work over many years.

But now the picture is special again! Experts looked at it closely. They checked the paint. They looked at the style. They studied old papers and records. Finally, they said: this painting is real. And it is worth much money. The value is more than one hundred thousand pounds!

This discovery matters for many reasons. It shows us that old things in our homes can be important. It teaches us about history. A woman artist from Scotland is famous again. Her work will not be forgotten. People will see her picture in museums and books.

Do you have old pictures in your family? Maybe one is hiding in a box somewhere. You never know what you might find.
