A former Australian government official is starting a public investigation into a major submarine agreement

A former Australian minister has started a new investigation. This investigation is about submarines for the military. The minister wants to find answers about an important agreement.

The agreement is between Australia and other countries. These countries want to work together. They plan to build submarines for Australia. The submarines are very expensive and important.

The investigation will ask important questions. First, will Australia really get these submarines? When will they arrive? Second, will the submarines make Australia safer? These are big questions for the country.

The former minister wants public money for this work. Many people can give money to help. This is called crowd-funding. The money will pay for experts. These experts will study the agreement carefully.

Australia needs to know the truth. The government made promises about this deal. People want to understand if the deal is good. They want to know if the money is being used well. This investigation will help answer these questions.
