NASA launches powerful telescope to map invisible universe

Did you know? Most of the universe is invisible. Scientists cannot see it. They call it dark energy and dark matter. Now, a new telescope is helping us learn about these invisible things.

NASA, the United States space agency, just started using a powerful new telescope. This telescope is very special. It can see things that older telescopes cannot see. The telescope will work for many years. Maybe five years. Maybe ten years. Nobody knows exactly.

The telescope's main job is to make a new map of the universe. A map shows where things are. This telescope will show us where stars and galaxies are. It will show us how the universe is growing and changing. Scientists want to understand dark energy and dark matter. These things are mysterious. We cannot touch them. We cannot see them. But we know they are there.

Dark matter holds galaxies together. Dark energy pushes galaxies away from each other. Together, they make up most of the universe. But scientists still have many questions. Why does dark energy exist? How does dark matter work? The new telescope will help find answers.

The telescope is a giant leap forward for science. It is stronger than older telescopes. It can see farther into space. It can see farther back in time too. When we look at very far stars, we see light from very long ago. The telescope helps us understand the early universe.

This mission is exciting for all of us. We live in this universe. Now we have a better tool to understand our home. What questions do you have about the universe? What would you like to learn?
