“Where the mountains teach you to think carefully before you move.”

🤔 Big Question

Why does Switzerland stay neutral ; does it actually work?

The Matterhorn rises 4,478 metres above Zermatt, a perfect sharp peak that looks almost impossible to climb. Elias knows this mountain well. He says it rewards careful preparation and punishes overconfidence. That sounds very Swiss. Switzerland sits between Germany, France, and Italy. For centuries, its neighbours were at war. Switzerland chose not to fight. Instead, it became a place where people talk, make agreements, and keep secrets safe. This is called neutrality. Precision clocks, careful banks, tall mountains — everything here seems to value exactness and patience. Does the landscape shape the culture? If you lived under the Alps every day, would you think differently about risk and trust?

🧠 Thinking Lab

Switzerland has maintained official neutrality for over 500 years, even during both World Wars. Do you think a country can genuinely stay neutral during a global conflict — or does neutrality itself become a political choice? What would South Korea do in a similar situation?
